Where can I not use my Onboard Card? (Prohibited Use & Jurisdictions)
To keep our platform safe, compliant, and accessible to as many people as possible, certain jurisdictions and types of activity are restricted from using the Onboard Card or accessing related services.
Some of these restrictions come from our own policies, while others are required by our licensed partners who help power the card infrastructure. Below is a list of prohibited use cases and jurisdictions.
🌍 Unsupported Countries
The Onboard Card is currently not available to users in the following countries or regions:
- Afghanistan
- Algeria
- Belarus
- Burundi
- Central African Republic
- Comoros
- Congo (The Democratic Republic of the)
- Congo (The Republic of)
- Cuba
- Cyprus
- Gambia (The)
- Iran (Islamic Republic of)
- Iraq
- Korea (The Democratic People's Republic of, North)
- Kyrgyzstan (AKA Kyrgyz Republic)
- Lebanon
- Liberia
- Libya
- Macedonia
- Maldives
- Montenegro
- Myanmar
- Nicaragua
- Palestine
- Russian Federation
- Sao Tome and Principe
- Serbia
- Somalia
- South Sudan
- Sudan
- Suriname
- Svalbard and Jan Mayen

This list may be updated from time to time based on changes in law or partner requirements.
🚷 Prohibited Activities
You may not use the Onboard Card for any of the following:
Illegal or Regulated Goods & Services
- Sale or purchase of controlled substances (e.g., drugs) without proper licenses
- Weapons, ammunition, or accessories
- Any form of gambling, betting, lotteries, or sweepstakes
- Prostitution or escort services
- Counterfeit goods or unauthorized resale of branded items
- Ponzi or pyramid schemes
Infringement of Intellectual Property
- Sale or distribution of pirated music, movies, or software
- Counterfeit or illegally imported goods
- Unauthorized use of copyrighted or trademarked content
Harmful or Hateful Behavior
- Promotion of hate speech or violence against individuals or groups
- Any activity that supports terrorism, hate crimes, or physical harm
Misuse of Card Services
- Providing false or misleading information during onboarding
- Using the card on behalf of someone else without disclosure
- Misusing the Onboard or partner brand, logo, or intellectual property
⚠️ Restricted Activities
Some businesses may face additional checks or be ineligible for the card entirely. These include:
- Financial services companies (e.g. banks, money transmitters, investment funds)
- Certain licensed businesses dealing in regulated substances
🔁 Final Note
These restrictions are in place to protect both users and our platform. In some cases, additional restrictions may apply based on our licensed card partners or local regulations.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate card access for violations, or if your activity puts Onboard or other users at risk.
