How can I create an Onboard Card?

Creating a card on Onboard is easy! Here's how:


  1. Tap Cards from the bottom menu in the app
  2. If it's your first card, tap Set up card. Otherwise, tap the + icon at the top right
  3. You'll be asked to answer a few questions about your intended card use (takes under a minute)
  4. Select how you want to fund your card:
    • Your local currency (NGN, IDR, or KES)
    • Stablecoins (USDT or USDC) from an external wallet
    • Another Onboard balance (Cash, Trading Wallet, or another Onboard card)
  1. Complete the funding step — your card will be created and ready to use! Congratulations, you've successfully created an Onboard Virtual Card!


Good to know:

  • Your first card is free. Additional cards cost $2. You can have up to 3 Flex cards (including any cancelled ones).
  • You need to complete identity verification before creating a card using a Photo ID (Passport, Driver's License, National ID card).
  • Your Flex Card setup may require an extra verification step if your original verification wasn't completed with a Photo ID (you'll be guided through it)


Note: If you're from an unsupported region you will not be able to create the Flex card. See unsupported countries here.
