How do I create my Onboard Flex Card?

Creating your Onboard Flex Card is quick and easy. Once it’s set up, you can start using it for online purchases, subscriptions, travel, and in-store tap payments with Apple or Google Pay.


What you need before creating a Flex Card

Make sure you're verified with a supported photo ID. Accepted IDs include: International Passport (recommended), Driver’s Licence, and National ID.


If your verification was NOT completed with a supported ID, you’ll see a “Flex cards are coming to you soon” message when you try to create one. From there, tap to contact Support and our team will guide you through the next steps.

How to create your Flex Card

The exact starting point depends on whether you’re creating your first-ever card or adding a new one. Once you select Flex Card, the rest of the steps are the same for everyone.


Step 1: Select the Flex card type


A. If this is your first card

  1. Navigate to your Cards dashboard.
  2. Tap Get a card.
  3. Select Flex Card.


Begin Flex Card creation (if you don't have an existing card)


B. If you already have an existing card

  1. Navigate to your Cards dashboard and open your current card.
  2. Tap the “+” icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Enter your new card details.
  4. Select Flex Card.

Note: If you don’t see the Flex Card option, it may be due to eligibility restrictions, e.g. you're from an unsupported region. See unsupported countries here.



Step 2: Complete a quick questionnaire & accept terms


  • Answer a few quick questions to confirm your profile and card usage, and accept the terms shown on-screen. This helps to ensure your card is compliant with laws & regulations.

Step 3: Fund your card
  • Add funds from your local currency, stablecoins (USDT, USDC), or other Onboard balances.
  • Once funded, we'll initiate the creation & approval of your Flex Card.

If your card is not approved, you’ll see an in-app message and your funds will be refunded to Onboard USD balance.
