How can I send money to friends, family, or businesses?

You can send money to anyone, friends, family, or businesses directly from your Onboard app using the Send feature.


This allows you to transfer money to local bank accounts or mobile money accounts quickly and easily.


You can send money to friends, family, or businesses using: USD (Cash) balance, Card balance and Trading wallet. Please note that third-party transfers aren’t currently supported from DeFi wallets or external wallets.


Step 1: Open the Onboard app

  • Open the Onboard app
  • Tap the Send (purple arrow) button at the bottom of the screen
  • Select Bank or Mobile Money



Step 2: Choose where you’re sending from

Select the balance you want to send money from. The available options depend on your balances, which includes:

  • USD balance
  • Card balance
  • Trading wallet



Step 3: Enter the amount and choose a currency

  • Enter the amount you want to send
  • Select the local currency you want the recipient to receive (for example, NGN, IDR or KES)
  • Review the exchange rate and fees, which are shown before you continue



Step 4: Select or add a recipient

You can send money to:

  • An existing recipient you’ve added before, or
  • A new recipient


To add a new recipient:

  • Enter the beneficiary’s bank or mobile money details
  • Select the bank or provider
  • Enter the account number and required information
  • Review the beneficiary details to confirm they are correct



Step 5: Review and confirm

  • Double-check the amount, recipient details, and fees
  • Confirm the transaction to complete your transfer


Once confirmed, the money is sent to the recipient’s bank or mobile money account. That’s it!


Note: You’ll always see the applicable fees and exchange rates before completing a transfer.
